I remember my nan entertaining me with this funny poem. I love how it contrasts the wish to be friendly and welcoming, offering the good old comforting cuppa, with the stubborn dedication to daily duties! It isn't as widely known as I first thought and there's variation where it does appear. Here is my version, much the same as my nan's.
